  • This is a six-month certificate course designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical, production-level AI systems.
  • The curriculum is comprehensive and progressive — starting with Python fundamentals, data processing and exploratory analysis, regression, classification, clustering, and dimensionality reduction, then advancing to deep learning and natural language processing.
  • In later modules, students are exposed to model deployment, MLOps, cloud platforms, Docker, and the principles of responsible AI.
  • The programme emphasizes “doing over just knowing”, combining live lectures, practical tutorials, and a hands-on capstone project to ensure participants emerge capable of delivering deployable AI solutions.

  Who Should Apply

This certificate is tailored for:

  • Aspiring data scientists and AI enthusiasts
  • Professionals in tech roles wanting to upskill in AI/ML
  • Engineers who want to integrate AI into industry work
  • Students or researchers aiming to deepen their applied AI expertise

  Structure & Delivery

  • The programme is delivered in a Direct-to-Device (D2D) mode, enabling online access regardless of location.
  • It comprises 72 hours of live interactive lectures plus 40 hours of capstone work, along with practical assignments and asynchronous modules.
  • An optional short on-campus immersion at IIT Delhi is available for participants seeking in-person exposure.
  • On successful completion of the criteria, participants will receive e-certificates from CEP, IIT Delhi.

 Institutional Perspective & Relevance

Professor Ankur Gupta from IIT Delhi’s Centre for Applied Research in Electronics emphasizes, “We’ve designed this programme around doing, not just knowing. Participants practise modern ML and AI techniques, take models into production, and apply responsible AI.” The mentoring, industry case studies, and capstone work are intended to give learners confidence in building real-world AI systems.

Globally and in India, demand for AI and data science expertise is surging. For example:

  • McKinsey’s The Data-Driven Enterprise of 2025 underscores the rising role of data in decision making.
  • The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 notes that 86% of employers expect AI to transform operations, and 63% cite skill gaps as a major hurdle.
