ICAR 2025-26 Counselling Begins for UG, PG & PhD Agriculture Courses

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has officially launched the online counselling process for the 2025-26 academic session, covering undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and PhD programmes in agriculture and allied sciences.

 Key Dates & Timeline

  • Registration & Choice-Filling Window: Opens October 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM, and is scheduled till October 17, 2025, 11:50 PM.
  • Seat Allotment (Round 1): Results are expected on October 21, 2025.
  • Further Rounds & Mop-Up: The entire counselling will span four rounds, followed by a mop-up round.
  • Previous Plan & Delays: Initially, ICAR intended to begin counselling on September 2, 2025 but was delayed due to integration issues with the payment gateway.
  • Choice Filling Earlier Date: ICAR had earlier set October 6 for choice filling, but it was postponed due to technical issues.

  Seat Distribution & Programme Details

  • This year, 6,002 All India Quota (AIQ) seats are available across various ICAR and agricultural universities.
  • BSc (Hons.) Agriculture has the largest share, with 3,121 seats.
  • The least number of seats is for Sericulture, with just 22 seats.
  • Under the AIQ scheme:
    • 20% seats in State Agricultural Universities (SAUs)
    • 100% seats in Central & Deemed Agricultural Universities
    • 20% seats in central universities such as BHU, AMU, Visva-Bharati, Nagaland University

 

 Eligibility & Procedure

  • Candidates must have appeared in CUET (ICAR-UG) 2025 and qualify as per the merit rank list.
  • Applicants should register on the official counselling portal (icarcounseling.com) or via the ICAR site (icar.org.in).
  • After registration, candidates need to fill choices, pay the counselling fee, and upload required documents.
  • The counselling brochure provides detailed information on seat matrix, courses, reservation policies, and schedule.
