Critical Dates & The Examination Window

Preparation is nothing without a timeline. Here are the key dates you need to etch into your calendar:

  • Date Sheet Release: The preliminary schedule was published on February 17, 2026.
  • Examination Kick-off: The theory exams are scheduled to commence on June 1, 2026 (Monday).
  • Correction Deadline: If you notice any discrepancies or clashes in your exam dates, you must notify the university at datesheet@ignou.ac.in by February 27, 2026.
  • Form Submission: The portal for the online submission of Examination Forms will be opened shortly.

Mandatory Conditions for Examinees

Before you can sit for the June 2026 TEE, you must ensure you meet these non-negotiable criteria:

  • Valid Registration: Your registration for the specific courses must be valid and not time-barred.
  • Assignments First: You must have submitted the required number of assignments for your courses by the stipulated due date.
  • Minimum Duration: Ensure you have completed the minimum time required to pursue the courses as per your program’s provisions.

Key Highlights: Exam Patterns & Language

IGNOU continues to evolve its testing methods to ensure fairness and accessibility:

  • Objective Type (MCQ/OMR): Specific programs like BDP, BTS, BCA, and BSW (for courses BSHF101, FST01) will feature objective-type question papers.
  • Descriptive Excellence: For students in BNS041 and BNS042, prepare for a traditional descriptive-type pattern.
  • Bengali Language Option: In a major move for accessibility, learners in CRD, PGDRD, and MARD programs are permitted to write their scripts in the Bengali Language from June 2024 onwards.
  • Group Clashes: Exams for courses within the same group (Group-1 to Group-6) are conducted at the same time; no requests for changes in these specific cases will be entertained.

Pro-Tips for the 2026 Session

  1. Check the Shift: Exams are held in two sessions: Morning (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM) and Evening (2:00 PM to 5:00 PM). Double-check your specific course timing on the date sheet.
  2. Backlog Awareness: If you have backlog courses from different years, they may clash. Note that the university does not consider date changes for backlog clashes.
  3. FYUP Integration: Students under the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) should carefully review their group-wise discipline selections to avoid exam overlaps
