JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2 Correction Window soon to be OPEN!

Attention, future engineers! If you hit “submit” on your JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2 application and immediately realise you made a typo, don’t panic. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially heard your pleas. In a move to support student interests, the NTA has announced a dedicated Correction Window, allowing candidates to edit and modify their particulars in the online application form.

In the high-stakes world of engineering entrances, a single error in your category, city choice, or name can lead to major hurdles later. This 48-hour window is your safety net to ensure your application is flawless before the exam hall ticket is generated.

The “Must-Watch” Calendar: The 48-Hour Sprint

This window is extremely brief. You must act quickly to ensure your data is accurate:

  • Correction Window Starts: February 27, 2026.
  • Final Deadline: February 28, 2026 (up to 11:50 P.M.).
  • Nature of Correction: This is a one-time opportunity. Once you submit your changes, the form will be frozen forever.

What Can You Edit? (The Annexure-1 Checklist)

The NTA has categorized what can and cannot be changed based on whether you are a fresh candidate or a returning one from Session 1.

  • For Fresh Candidates (Session 2 Only):
    • Personal Details: Change either your name, father’s name, or mother’s name (only one of these).
    • Education: Modify Class 10th and Class 12th details.
    • Identity & Contact: Update Date of Birth, Gender, Category, Sub-category, and Signature.
    • Exam Preferences: Change your Examination City selection and the Medium of the examination.
  • For Session 1 & 2 Candidates:
    • Candidates who registered for both sessions can modify specific fields like Category, Sub-category, City Selection, and Medium of Examination.

The “Fine Print”: Fee and Finality

Before you log in, keep these critical points in mind:

  1. Additional Fees: While many corrections are free, if you change your category (e.g., from SC to General) or add a paper (e.g., adding B.Arch to B.E./B.Tech), you will be charged an additional fee. This fee must be paid before the 11:50 P.M. deadline on February 28.
  2. No Refunds: If your change results in a lower fee, the difference will not be reimbursed.
  3. One-Time Only: You cannot go back and edit again. Double-check every single field before hitting that final submit button.

Strategic Steps for a Flawless Application

  • Login Early: Don’t wait until 11:00 P.M. on the 28th. Server traffic can be heavy, and technical glitches are common during the final hours.
  • Verify the Medium: Ensure you have selected the correct language for your question paper.
  • Check Exam Cities: With travel logistics in mind, re-verify your preferred city choices to ensure they are the most convenient for you.

Your focus should be on your preparation, not on application errors. Log in to jeemain.nta.ac.in and make your corrections today!
