What is CTET and why it matters

Paper structure & exam pattern — at a glance

Paper-wise detailed eligibility (typical / as notified)

Paper I (Primary: Classes I–V) — typical eligible qualifications (read bulletin for precise eligibility that applies to your case):

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed); OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% + 4-year B.El.Ed; OR
  • Graduation with 50% + B.Ed (as per NCTE norms); OR
  • Senior Secondary with 50% + 2-year Diploma in Special Education.

Paper II (Upper Primary: Classes VI–VIII) — typical eligible qualifications:

  • Graduation with at least required % + B.Ed (or equivalent) OR relevant teacher education qualifications as per NCTE. Candidates in final year of qualifying exam may be provisionally eligible — check bulletin for exact provisions.

Step-by-step application process (how to apply)

  1. Visit ctet.nic.in → click “Apply for CTET Feb-2026”.
  2. Register with active email and mobile number; verify OTPs.
  3. Fill personal, educational and communication details carefully (spellings, exam medium).
  4. Upload scanned photograph and signature matching bulletin specifications (size, format).
  5. Choose paper(s), exam city preferences and language medium.
