Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination, 2024 – Result Declaration for PET/PST Shortlisting for the Post of Havaldar

The Staff Selection Commission conducted the Computer-Based Examination (CBE) for the Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination, 2024, across various centers nationwide from 30th September 2024 to 14th November 2024.

Normalization of Marks

Given that the CBE was held in multiple shifts, the marks of candidates were normalized following the formula detailed in Notice No. 1-1/2018-P&P-I, dated 07.02.2019, available on the Commission’s official website. For the post of Havaldar (CBIC & CBN), candidates were shortlisted for the Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) based on their normalized scores in Session-II of the CBE, as per Para-18.7 of the Examination Notice.

Candidate Preferences and Evaluation Criteria

In accordance with Para-17.5 of the Examination Notice, candidates were considered for selection only against vacancies of the Post-cum-CCAs they indicated as preferences in their online application forms. Moreover, candidates shortlisted for PET/PST were selected based on their performance in Session-II of the CBE, per Para-18 of the Examination Notice. It is important to note that candidates failing to qualify in Session-I were not evaluated for Session-II.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

The minimum qualifying marks for both Session-I and Session-II of the CBE are as follows:

  • UR: 30%
  • OBC/EWS: 25%
  • All Other Categories: 20%

PET/PST and Final Results

Candidates who do not pass the PET/PST will not be eligible for the post of Havaldar. However, their candidacy for the post of MTS will remain valid if they meet the qualifications for that position. In accordance with the tie resolution criteria outlined in Para-19 of the Examination Notice, situations where multiple candidates have achieved the same aggregate marks in Session-II have been resolved systematically using the following methods, applied sequentially until the tie is broken:

  1. Marks in General Awareness of Session-II – Candidates with higher scores in the General Awareness section of Session-II are given preference.
  2. Total normalized marks in Session-I – If the tie persists, the total normalized marks obtained in Session-I are considered.
  3. Date of Birth – In cases where the tie still exists, the older candidate is given priority.
  4. Alphabetical Order of Names – If all other criteria fail to resolve the tie, the candidates’ names are arranged alphabetically, and preference is given accordingly.

The schedule for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) for the posts of Havaldar will be announced on the Commission’s website shortly. Candidates are advised to check the website regularly for updates.

Representations submitted by candidates regarding the Answer Keys have been thoroughly reviewed, and corrections were made wherever deemed necessary. These revised Answer Keys were utilized for the final evaluation of results.
