The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the Advance Intimation for Allotment of Examination City for candidates appearing in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 – Session 1. This step is crucial as it helps candidates plan their travel and stay well in advance before the actual examination.
JEE (Main) is one of India’s most competitive national-level entrance examinations for admission into B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning programmes across NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions.

JEE (Main) 2026 Session 1 – Exam Schedule
The examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at multiple centres across India and 15 cities outside India.
Examination Dates:
- 21, 22, 23, 24 & 28 January 2026
- Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech)
- Shift 1: 09:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
- Shift 2: 03:00 PM – 06:00 PM
- 29 January 2026
- Paper 2A (B.Arch)
- Paper 2B (B.Planning)
- Paper 2A & 2B (Both)
- Timing: 09:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Examination City Intimation Slip – Important Details
- The Examination City Intimation Slip has been uploaded on the official website
- Candidates can download it from 08 January 2026 onwards
- Login using Application Number and Password
⚠️ Important Clarification
- This slip is NOT the Admit Card
- It only informs candidates about the city where the exam centre will be located
- The official Admit Card will be released separately
